Capuacu Butter
Cupuacu grows in the Amazon rain forest and is native to Columbia. Trees grow to a height of 20 metres in the wild, cultivated ones to 8 metres. A mature tree will produce 20‐30 fruits. Cupuacu butter is obtained by pressing the bean‐shaped seeds of the fruits. The seeds contain 50% fat, and are much appreciated by the cosmetics industry
for their high content of phytosterols and vitamin E and for their fragrance.
